Frequently Asked Questions: What is Reiki? Reiki is an ancient healing method that uses gentle hand positions to channel energy into the body, balancing chakras, removing toxins, reducing stress, and enhancing wellbeing. It is safe and entirely painless. Do I have to get undressed? No, Reiki is delivered through a series of non-invasive hand positions. Just wear something comfortable that you can lie down in and take off your shoes and any restrictive jewelry. How long does a treatment take? At least 75 minutes. Please allow 90 minutes for your appointment. What does Reiki work with? My clients come from all walks of life, in all stages of health. Some people come for relaxation and stress relief. I work with actors and writers to remove creative blocks and free up creativity. I have other clients dealing with various forms of disease and discomfort ranging from irregular heart beats, to spinal injuries, to cancer, insomnia and depression. While it is not a substitute for science and modern medicine, I believe that everyone can benefit from Reiki, no matter what's going on in their life. How will I feel? Each experience is unique. Relaxation and a deep sense of peace is a typical result. A treatment is different for everyone - some people have visions, others hear things, some feel heat or tingling while others fall asleep - but the benefits are the same. Occasionally a person might feel uncomfortable immediately following a treatment - we are working on shifting toxins, which can feel unusual, but it will pass quickly leaving you refreshed and rejuvenated. |
Reiki works with you to restore energetic balance and repair things like blockages and imbalance in the energy field that creates disease and unhappiness. This can take time, especially if the illness has been in the body for a while. It is best when having a treatment to have no expectations except to be open to the possibility of being whole, complete and perfect. For a specific issue a series of treatments may be the most effective course of action. Modalities: I work primarily with Reiki and utilize prayer, music, crystals, aromatherapy, bells, drums, sage and other healing "tools" as needed during each session to remove blocks and clear the auric field. I use my intuition and guidance to better assist my client in growth and healing. I am merely the channel and will hold the space for each individual to be whole, complete and perfect.
